Title: A Scot in America....
Post by kyle on Oct 27th, 2004 at 1:22am
Hi, i am an undergraduate at Edinburgh University, studying Scottish Law. Unfortunately i am seriously considering moving to the States (California more specifically) and have no idea about the law out there. So just a few questions if anyone can answer them?

1. Would i need to do much additional work or qualifications to practice there? if so, where and how long, for instance??

2. Is it a completely different legal system across there?

3. Do you know if the job prospects are good across the pond?

4. Whats the money like as a lawyer?

I'm impressed - you seem to be progressing through the legal education system very quickly.  You'll be a partner by tomorrow at this rate?

Will post answer to both in the next week or so.
