Title: Help about Diploma in Legal Practice!
Post by princess2210 on Jul 1st, 2008 at 1:39pm
Hi there, I am currently going in to my 3rd year LLB in scotland and just wondered if anyone could tell me how difficult it is to get in to the Diploma, what kind of grades do you need on the core subjects because my 1st year grades are not very good due to various circumstances and this has brought my average down, even though I passed them all. Should I consider alternative career paths? Any advice would be really appreciated!

That's a difficult one to answer.  I was in a similar position as yourself.  I have just secured my place at one of the  lesser popular diploma providers.  I went to Glasgow but didn't bother applying to the GGSL or even Edinburgh.   The best advice I can give you is talk to someone dealing in admission to work out where your best applying.

Its all about applying tactfully.  I know a few  people who didn't get into GGSL and they had better grades than me.

Which uni are you at? and was is your average mark for the professional subjects?

:)
