Title: Law and nightclub PR
Post by Vonrah on Jun 15th, 2011 at 3:44pm
Please help,
I work as door security at a popular nightclub in Scotland. My manager and area manager both state that rival nightclub PR staff handing out flyers must keep a distance of 50 yards from our main enterance. I am suspicious about this fact of law. Can someone please clarify if there is anything in this or similar?
We (door staff) are being asked, under some pressure of "law", to move people on from the street which we feel uncomfortable about.

Thanks for reading.

You would only be able to move them if they entered a closed off area that belonged to your club, i.e a smoking area or outside seating area. If it is just a street walkway then they have any right to be there unless your local council by law states otherwise.
