Young Peoples rights on arrest
May 27th, 2006 at 4:59am

I am a Detached Youth Worker, looking for the rights young people (13/18 have when they are arrested.

In the passed i have used a card to provide information to young people called a 'Rights of Arrest Card', giving them simple information about their rights when arrested. The card is now long out of date and owing to changes in the law, iam looking for what rights young people have when arrested in Scotland.

I would be greatfull for any information and advice on this topic.

I would also be interested in those rights; in addition, rights you have upon police encounter.

I was once stopped in the street (for no apparent reason) and questioned, which I feel is unfair if not unlawful.
