im looking for some help resolving a query
getting married in austria (organised via hotel )

ive been told that i need to send the following in advance

photo copy of my passport pages 1-6 with photo page
original birth certificate - stamped by the FCO
Cert of no impediment - stamped by the FCO
photo copy of my drivers license / paper license
copy of council tax / voters card

i also need a Declaration of single status ... is this the same as the cert of no impediment ??
if not what does this have to include ?

and do the photo copies have to be verified by solicitor first ??

Errr... I think that as the marriage will (hopefully..) take place in Austria then you need Austrian Legal advice...

Any Scottish legal opinion is "Interesting" but would the Austrian registrar/courts take any notice of the opinion???

Having said that the legal profession is always pleased to charge for anything (legal), IMHO, including what you suggest here... It can't make matters worse...

Also, IMHO, a "Notary Public" (many solicitors are also) would be preferable, I think... the term makes more sense in foreign parts....

Any reason why you can't take the original documents as well ?? (You'll need your passport anyway.....)

Guten Tag.... and best wishes with the marriage

(Rab has been married 3 times, twice to the same "Mary Hen..."
