Law abroad USA or OZ
Jan 22nd, 2009 at 9:08pm

Hi all

I am planning on applyin for the accelerated law program. I am trying to find out information of law careers abroad. A few people have told me that law is very restrictive in where you can work for example if you graduate from Scotland you cannot practise elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me what the procudure is if you graduated here but wanted to work in say NZ or Oz. Even maybe the states? I knwo some of the magic circle firms offer seats abroad but is your degree vaild there.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Depends when you want to move... if it's after you've completed your traineeship shouldn't be too much of a problem.  Looked into Ozland - each state has different rules but it's not too hard to get your down under qualification.  Just look up the various states law societies and email them - I found them very helpful.
