CONDUCT OF OTHER MEMBERS
Jan 30th, 2009 at 4:05pm

I would like to ask are there any Rules or is there a Code of Conduct regarding the conduct of other Members on the Forum?  I have been posting on a thread for the last couple of days, which several Members have been trying to understand, but there is one Member who has become very insulting, abusive and is using unsavoury language, this is not the first time that this member has become embroiled with other Members.

I would respectfully ask is there anyone else who feels the same as I that this behaviour and also some of his comments about Members of the Legal Profession is really out of order.

I look forward to hearing other views.

Thanks

Mo

Mo darling, get over yourself. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if everyone were like you?

I am different. Deal with it. And if you don't like it, don't post. Again.

Thank you John Deed - hopefully like-minded Members will add similar opinions and common sense, respect and manners will once again prevail.

Many thanks for your support.

What I would say is that if people in general want to resort to playground like language in private then that is entirely their prerogative. However the forum is not private. It is a public forum where - yes - people have the freedom to say what they like, but along with that freedom should be a responsibility to maintain a good reputation for the legal profession. To this end it is NEVER appropriate to swear at other members, or anybody seeking advice.

Anybody that may happen to come across the thread in question may think twice about posting with a genuine question for fear of being condescended to or ridiculed. This is not good for the forum as a whole.

If individuals feel that a post is spam for example (whether it is or not), or if they feel that somebody is trolling (whether they are or not), it is MUCH better (and more mature) to simply not reply at all, rather than to enter into a ridiculous and pointless debate filled with unprofessional drivel.

Date: Today at 4:12pm Aww Mo Mo,

You dislike me so much that you feel the need to warn other members of me?

Get a grip old lady.

This is now his latest tactic - sending me a Private Message as above - hopefully Forum Admin will be on soon and remove his Membership.

And yes Zurich Allan - I have not replied further to him and have no intention of doing so, your advice is excellent.

Thank you.

Mo
