Doing my LLB just now. We had some guest speakers at our Legal Systems lectures a while back. Naturally, they gave us some advice.

The first, who worked in conveyance told us not to go into conveyancing.

The second solicitor told us to change courses immediately, to something other than Law.

Now thats not a good thing to say to someone who is about to embark on the course. Why???

How are you finding it?

I have just finished my first year of the GLLB at Strathclyde and absolutely love it!  It is a fantastic course and so interesting.  Don't get me wrong it is a lot of work but is brilliant.

I assume it is Glasgow Uni not Strathclyde you meant you were going to?

I did the Accelerated LLB in Glasgow and finished in the summer.  It is a great course and I can highly recommend it.  It lays down some interested academic challenges and is taught by some great lecturers.  I found that, with a few exceptions, fellow students welcomed me into sporting societies with open arms.  In fact I know of one sporting club captained by a Grad LLB student.

The advantage of starting now is a wider choice of diploma options and hopefully in three years the market may have setteld somewhat.
