Advertising ASBO
Apr 1st, 2010 at 12:12am

My mother-in-law responded to a leaflet posted through her letterbox by a paving company. Unbeknownst to her, this company have an ASBO on certain advertising practices: such as using posted leaflets. The people involved were arrested earlier today and will be in court tomorrow so she hasn't had any contact with the firm since their arrest. They agreed a contract for work earlier in the week and I was wondering if they can request part payment for the work they have done. My first thought was that they have negated the contract by obtaining business through means they are not allowed to.

I have not posted this in the legal advice forum as there is no legal situation as yet. The company have not contacted my mother-in-law either so I do not know if they will pursue any money. Hopefully I can update this post in the next few days.
