private rent, no electric bill for 5 years?
Apr 15th, 2010 at 7:36pm
Hi , im in scotland, live in private rented flat..been here about 15 years..
When i first moved in there was a caretaker who read the meter every month.
He would send this info to a solicitors who deal with the flats..they would pay bill and we would pay them..
Now to cut a long story short, the caretaker died, not replaced, then the 3 flat accupiers sent in there own meter readings and things went ok... but for sum reason, none of the flats have recieved an electric bill for almost 5 years...
we have asked why not, e mailed for reasons, asked for bills, we all wanted to know what we owe...
They give us no reason, no letters and no bills..
they replied to a couple of e mails but without answees .
The bills must be getting paid or we would be cut off..true or not ??
Any of you help with this situation, as i where do i stand if i leave, or can i demand a bill?

thanks for any help...
