There appear to be a number of nuisnace posters turning up either advertising dubious dating sites or just posting nonsense. Is there not any way you can block these?

Sorry, just noticed today!

Deleted quite a few now and if you spot any trends or common phrases I can search for to clear up old ones let me know.

The problem seems to be people joining the forum just to send adverts. One guy seems to just send pictures of a film star! Maybe their membership could be cancelled if this happens as posters looking for help may be upset when they think they've got a reply and then see rubbish.

I've made seven changes, one may be temporary:

Members need 2 posts before they can post a link or a picture.

Members need 10 posts before they can include a link in their signature (a lot of the 'I agree' or 'Well said' posts are just spam so that someone can advertise there business or US law firm in the signature block).

To register, the e-mail address must be validated within 2 hours (used to be 12 hours).

Date of birth needs to be provided to register.

Gender needs to be provided to register.

After e-mail validation, I need to approve the member.  This is likely to be the temporary change.

The word "e s c o r t" (no spaces) can no longer be used in the forum.  If it is it is automatically replaced with "this is a spam posting".

Hopefully one or all of these combined should clean things up!
