Warranty Claim on a Laptop
May 22nd, 2012 at 9:15pm
I purchased a laptop from in December 2011. It has now developed a whirring noise and I want it looked at under warranty.

I have contacted laptopsdirect and they tell me my warranty is held by the laptop manufacturer which is Lenovo. Is this right? The retailer has given me an 0870 number to call which is for the manufacturer however such a number means I pay for the call. I do not wish to incur any costs however small.

I thought my warranty would be with the retailer and therefore the goods should be sent back to them

Grateful for your thoughts.

Hi Harley,

Yes you are correct your contract is with the seller and not the manufacturer.  You should go back to them and insist that they deal with the problem.
