Advocacy career worries.
Aug 29th, 2004 at 10:50pm

I'm about to start my senior year in law down south here in England. I had geared myself to practise at the English bar, but have decided that I want to return to Scotland (having lived in Edinburgh for a year before) and practise as an advocate.

I've noticed however that there are only 770 odd advocates in Scotland to date! Obviously quite distressing - the competition must be absolutely fierce.

Is anyone else planning a career as an advocate? My aim is to take an LLM in IP law then convert to the Scottish Bar.
