Privacy Policy Statement
This is the web site of Scottish Law Online.
Based in: UK
I can be reached via e-mail by filling in the Feedback
Form on this site.
For each visitor to any of the Websites, the
Web server automatically recognises Internet statistics -
Your IP Address, Referrers, Browser, Computer Settings and
other similar information. This information is not available
to others. It cannot provide information about your e-mail
address, name or other sensitive information..
I can access Internet Statistics and information
volunteered on the sites.
The information I collect is not kept for longer
than the purpose for which it is required and is not shared
with anyone at all.
With respect to cookies: I do not set any cookies
in the main site. Two cookies are set in the Discussion Forum
- one for your password and one for your username. These are
set so that users do not have to constantly enter login information
as they browse the boards. The advertisers in the Shopping
Zone also appear to set cookies so too do the advertisers
on other areas of the site. I am told that these cookies expire
after a period of time and are designed to credit this site
with referrals during the period for which they are active.
I have no control over these cookies nor can I access any
of the information which results from them.
If you do not want to receive e-mail from me
in the future, please let me know by sending me an e-mail
at the above address.
With respect to Ad Servers: I do not partner
with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
With respect to the Discussion Forums: The discussion
forums allow users to post messages anonymously provided they
choose to hide their e-mail address from the public when registering.
Occasional e-mails regarding the site and the discussion forums
will be sent to members. E-mail addresses provided when registering
are not shared with any company, organisation or individual.
From time to time, I may use customer information
for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this
privacy notice. If the information practices change at some
time in the future I will use for these new purposes only
data collected from the time of the policy change forward
.
Users may prevent their information from being
used for purposes other than those for which it was originally
collected by e-mailing me and I will be happy to comply.
Upon request I can provide site visitors with
access to all information that I maintain about them. (Which
isn't very much if anything at all!)
Users can have this information corrected
by sending an e-mail to the above address.
With respect to security: It is felt that security
measures are unnecessary for the information which is dealt
with.

Change in Privacy Policy December 2002:
Privacy Policy updated to take account of the new bulletin
board/discussion forum on the site.
If you feel that this site is not following
its stated information policy, you may contact me at the above
e-mail addresses. Alternatively, contact the DMA's Committee
on Ethical Business Practices at mgoldberger@the-dma.org.
Please remember though that I loathe and detest
junk mail, hate unsolicited e-mails with a passion and have
no intention of upsetting anyone with any e-mails which I
may send. If I have offended you then I am very sorry. Simply
contact me and I will try to avoid a reoccurrence of the incident.
