SWEET & MAXWELL:

Sweet & Maxwell is a part of the Thomson Corporation and is the UK arm of its Legal and Regulatory division. W Green is the Scottish law publishing company of Sweet & Maxwell.

Online Services
A full list of the online services is available on the S&M site. Further, the home page is a good introduction to the services offered by S&M in the UK. The main services are detailed below:

The Alerter
The Alerter is a current awareness service for lawyers which allows you to select the information you wish to receive updates on.

LegalHub
New online resource for the legal community. A free to access, easy to use service, it is the new home of The Bar Directory online as well as The Expert Witness Directory. Legal Hub also features professional profiles, hot topic articles and details of our upcoming events.

LocaLaw UK
Local Law UK is a service providing access to local government law and featuring a current awareness service on various topics.

Westlaw UK (Logon)
WestLaw UK is a part of the West Group and the US branch of this service is available at westlaw.com. If you are a subscriber, log in here. There is also an Intranet Solutions service which firms can use.

As well as covering all areas of case and legislation reporting, a current awareness service and access to full text journals, the site also covers more specific practice areas which now include:

Sweet & Maxwell has many online newsletters on various legal topics which provide indepth analysis of recent developments.

Sweet & Maxwell also own Current Legal Information which suscribers can access online. The Bar Directory is now online in a joint venture with the General Council of the Bar.

W GREEN:
W Green has been a primary scottish law publisher for over 100 years. More recently, it has joined the Thomson Corporation and this has allowed it to expand its online services. These include:

Scots Law Times

There is also a Current Awareness Service for Criminal Law and Human Rights as well as a section for students which contains a guide to conducting legal research. Not to mention the West Law (Scots Law) service, through the WestLaw site mentioned above.
